Designed by John Brauer, Bin Bin turns the bin itself into a piece of crumpled paper — in rigid polyethylene, black, a full 14-litre size. A design joke told with a straight face, and a genuinely useful object.

The story
John Brauer's Bin Bin asks a simple question: if a bin exists for crumpled paper, why not make the bin the crumpled paper? The result is Essey's most recognisable design — a piece of functional wit that has earned its place in studios and offices around the world.
